Vintage railroad sounds using MP3 files and a wireless controller
Dennis writes to Adafruit:
I just completed a Perfboard Alpha Test of a MP3 mini player using your radio board for remote input. And it works like a charm.
Four button sound selection. Fully operational from the AC track power thru a vintage American Flyer model train transformer. To a rectifier through a Buck Boost Board and 4.95VDC out to the receiver and into a MP3 player running off the same 5VDC supply.
With 4 sounds I gave it a steam whistle or diesel horn. A station announcement
“Now arriving on Track 3 Royal Blue Special from New York City.”
