HackSpace Magazine: Adafruit QT Py ESP32-S2 #QTPy #ESP32 @HackSpaceMag @Raspberry_Pi
HackSpace Magazine Issue 59 reviews the Adafruit QT Py ESP32-S2:
The QT Py ESP32-S2 WiFi Dev Board from Adafruit combines the ease of use of the Adafruit STEMMA QT connectors with the power and speed of the ESP32-S2. Now you can quickly prototype your design, and you won’t even need to break out your
soldering iron. Just plug and play. There are tons of compatible breakout boards in this ecosystem, and if there isn’t the exact sensor you need, you can just solder one to the conveniently located castellated edges.
The board features an ESP32-S2 that is low-power, runs at 2.4GHz, and has native USB. Just note that this variant of the ESP32 is a single core, which means it isn’t as fast as a dual core, and it doesn’t have native Bluetooth support. But there’s still lots to love, including 4MB of flash memory and 2MB PSRAM, a USB type C connector, and the built‑in RGB NeoPixel LED. Check out the product page for more information, including links to tutorials and downloadable code.
They give the board a 10/10, saying it’s “Affordable and small.”
