A smart electronic reflow hotplate with CircuitPython #CircuitPython @bradanlane
The aluminum block is 8x4x0.75 inches and has two 250W (6mm * 150mm) cartridge heaters. There is a thermocouple on the underside.
The user interface uses my pre-built LumosStick – a 7×40 neopixel parallel driven matrix, 2 edge tact buttons, and a buzzer and driven by an ESP32-S2 and running CircuitPython.
The LumosStick is at the top and the tact buttons are extended out to the two arcade style buttons for the user interface.
I used the Adafruit learning guide for SPI to read the thermocouple.
I used the Adafruit FancyLED library to display the temperature value with a gradient so the color – in addition to the numeric value – implies the heat.
