OPPO will announce ColorOS based on Android 13 in August 2022 – Notebookcheck.net
OPPO is a smartphone OEM that develops ColorOS as these devices’ official, out of the box UI. It has also been ported to those of its subsidiary OnePlus – albeit in the company’s native China only. Its latest 12.1 version is based on Android 12, although it is apparent that a successor with the appropriate new name of 13 is on the way by now.
The blog 91Mobiles claims to have heard that OPPO will be ready to debut ColorOS 13 worldwide by the end of August 2022. This might sound outlandishly early, as not even Google’s Pixel phones are slated to see the upgrade by then; on the other hand, the OEM is currently seeding it to users, albeit via a closed beta.
This program is reportedly open to no more than 1,000 users of the Find X5 Pro and X5 flagships, as well as the China-specific OnePlus 10 Pro and inaugural foldable Find N, located in either India or China.
Therefore, the OEM may be as on track as its sibling company Realme with its GT 2 Pro to have a final stable version ready soon; then again, should it indeed present the upgrade in August 2022, it may only be a showcase of its features as with OnePlus and its global OxygenOS 13 analog.
Then again, the premium mid-range Reno8 series is also now said to encounter the update by September 2022. Therefore, Android 13 may indeed supercede its predecessor with all the alacrity hinted at in previous leaks.
