If you’ve ever used AirDrop in the Apple ecosystem before, you know how seamless it is to be able to transfer files or photos to another device. It’s a well-loved feature. However, one experience that is not so smooth with AirDrop on a Mac is transferring multiple files to another device at once. But there is a trick that makes it easier.
Why You Should Use AirDrop
AirDrop allows you to wirelessly transfer files, photos, and more to another Mac or Apple device. If you don’t know how to transfer files using AirDrop, have a look at our primer on how to use AirDrop. It is the best way to share files over to other devices wirelessly.
How to Easily Transfer Multiple Files With AirDrop
You can access AirDrop through Finder from the sidebar. But you must add the AirDrop shortcut to the Finder Toolbar to transfer multiple files easily. To do this:
- Open Finder on your Mac.
- Click View in the menu bar, then select Customize Toolbar.
- Drag the AirDrop icon to the Finder Toolbar.
Now that you have AirDrop in your Toolbar, you can transfer multiple files or photos quickly. To do so:
- Locate the files you want to transfer and select them all by holding Shift or Cmd.
- After selecting them, click the AirDrop icon in the Finder toolbar.
- Select the person you would like to transfer the files to.
- After you confirm they have been transferred, click Done.
One thing to note is that some people may change the AirDrop name on their devices, so make sure you select the right person.
Now You Can Use AirDrop With Ease
AirDrop is one of the Apple ecosystem’s hallmark features. While it is a seamless process for transferring individual files, transferring multiple files is not as easy by default. But now you can easily AirDrop various files without having to drag and drop files into the AirDrop tab in Finder.
