If you want to watch the Boston Red Sox’s series opener against the Chicago White Sox on Friday night, don’t turn on your cable box.
Friday’s Red Sox-White Sox game will air exclusively on Apple TV+ as part of the streaming service’s “Friday Night Baseball” series. That means it won’t be broadcast by your local cable provider (NESN for Boston fans) or MLB TV.
The good news is that the game can be watched for free without an Apple TV+ subscription. If you have an Apple ID — the account you use for any Apple device — you can log in to your account on Apple TV+ and stream the game free of charge.
Nathan Eovaldi will take the mound for the Red Sox, who are looking to bounce back after an 8-0 loss to Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday that dropped them 10-16 on the season. The White Sox scuffled out of the gate as well but have won three of their last four to improve to 11-13, with right-hander Vince Velazquez getting the start vs. Eovaldi.
