Apple has kick-started 2022 on a positive note with its first launch event broadcast live from Apple Park in Cupertino, California. The ‘Peek Performance’ event witnessed the launch of Apple’s budget-friendly smartphone iPhone SE, iPad Air, Mac computers and more.
iPhone SE (2022) was one of the highlights of the ‘Peek Performance’ event. Apple is launching an affordable smartphone after two years. The new device is an upgrade of the iPhone SE (2020) and is priced at Rs 43,900 for the 64GB model. While the 128GB is priced at Rs 48,900, the 256GB is priced at Rs 58,900. The latest version comes equipped with 5G and A15 Bionic Chip. The device sports a 4.7-inch Retina HD display that makes everything look incredible. The iPhone SE (2022) is all about power. With an A15 Bionic chip, the new iPhone SE is believed to deliver up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance than the iPhone 8. The latest smartphone features a 12MP sensor with an f/1.8 wide-angle lens similar to the 2020 model. The cameras come with a slew of improvements including enhanced visual processing and support features such as Deep Fusion, Photographic Styles, and Smart HDR 4. The SE (2022) also supports 4K video recording up to 60fps. A 7MP camera sensor at the front can allows users to take selfies and video chats with impeccable quality. Another big launch at the event was the latest iPad Air model. The iPad Air (2022) is powered by Apple’s M1 chip and features an upgraded front camera with Centre Stage Support. The Centre Stage Support feature was introduced in 2021 on iPad Pro and iPad mini. The iPad Air (2022) has retained the design of the 2020 model. The iPad Air (2022) starts at Rs 54,900 for the WiFi 64GB model, while the WiFi+cellular model with 64GB is priced at Rs 68,900. The device also comes in 256GB WiFi and WiFi+cellular models, however, the official price is yet to be announced. Apple unveiled its high-end computing device the Mac Studio. The latest offering comes with a 27-inch 5K panel, hi-fi audio, and a front camera. Mac Studio is targeted at professionals looking forward to enhancing their existing gear. The device powered by M1 Max SoC, 32 GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at Rs 1,89,900 in India for the base model. The model powered by M1 Ultra SoC with 64GB RAM and 1TB storage starts at Rs 3,89,900. Meanwhile, Apple Studio Display with standard glass is priced at Rs 1,59,900 and with nano-texture glass at Rs 1,89,900.
