How to Search Through a User’s Tweets on Twitter
Twitter may no longer require you to jump through hoops to find someone’s tweets thanks to a handy feature.
The social media platform has added a button to its iOS app to help you find people’s tweets more easily than before.
Here’s what to know about it and how to use it.
Twitter has made it easier for iOS users to find tweets on a specific profile on the app with the the addition of a new search button on their profile.
Twitter already had advanced search filters on both its desktop and mobile platforms. But this feature makes the process easier.
Before, you would need to search tweets from a specific user by typing “from: [Twitter handle] [search term]” in the search box. This required you to manually change search terms if you wanted to filter someone’s tweets.
The new button on the profile makes the process a whole lot easier, especially when it comes to searching for older tweets.
Start searching for people’s specific tweets in a few easy steps. Here’s how:
- Launch the Twitter app on your iOS device.
- Navigate to the profile of the user whose tweets you want to search for.
- Tap the search button in the top-right corner of their profile, right next to the three-dot menu button. It should appear over the user’s cover image.
- Type your search query in the search bar and scroll through the tweets generated by Twitter.
As you can see in the screenshots, Twitter will pull up tweets going back years within seconds. If you don’t have the feature yet, the old search filters will still work.
At launch, Twitter is rolling out the feature on the iOS app, with plans to make it available to Android users in the future.
Twitter continues to add features to make its app more user-friendly.
It has also brought back image previews of Instagram links, after having cancelled the feature. With all the features Twitter is adding, there’s no telling what’s next for the app.
Here are some things you can change on your Twitter profile to make it stand out from the rest.
