Japan LDP Election: Kono, Kishida face runoff amid no majority
Lawmakers in Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) failed to reach a majority in electing a new leader, who will be likely a new Prime Minter of the country.
This has led to a run-off between the Japanese Vaccine Minister Taro Kono and the former party policy Chief Fumio Kishida.
Kono gets total 255 votes,
Kishida gets total 256 votes.
382 votes are needed for majority.
