Finding Inspiration for a Cyberpunk Miniatures Gang #cyberpunk
In this fascinating video on 52 Miniatures, Alex goes on a journey to better understand what cyberpunk is. He’s creating a cyberpunk gang for the tabletop sci-fi game, Stargrave, and he decided he finally wanted to come to grips with his limited understanding of what cyberpunk actually is.
He goes to a book/game store, buys some novels, Cyberpunk RPG books, and a Necromunda Escher gang box to kit bash and combine with some chaos gangers he got from a friend.
He does a pretty deep dive into the colors found in cyberpunk films, finally zeroing in on Ghost in the Shell. Then, he incorporates something I’ve never heard of, “mother colors, where you pick a theme color and mix that color into EVERY other color you use to create a subtle tonal harmony to the resulting piece. He identifies a light violet color as a dominant part of Ghost’s color palette. He makes that his mother color for his gang.
