FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Donations are pouring in for some special customers at a gas station in Fresno’s Tower District after heartwarming TikTok videos received national attention.

The store managers of Tower Gas and Mini Mart said it started with an effort to help a frequent customer.

Phil is homeless and has been down on his luck for eight years. So the managers started recording Phil and other customers highlighting their talents and struggles.

They quickly gained more than two million TikTok followers and more than 32 million views.

And now, people around the world have sent gifts and notes of encouragement to Phil and some of the others in the videos.

Blankets, warm socks and other items have also continued to show up at the store.

The managers said the response to the videos has been overwhelming, with thousands of boxes showing up every day.

“Just the other day, I received over 200 plus boxes, packages from the mail from viewers who just want to help these guys out,” said store manager, Akram Mohsin

The managers of Tower Gas say it’s a side of the homeless in Fresno that most people don’t see.

In addition to their new-found fame, the workers have raised hundreds of dollars from people worldwide to pass out food to those in need in central Fresno.
