Some people don’t believe in DIY skincare, but something as simple as face icing can make all the difference in your skin. Per one viral TikTok, the beauty hack is making millions a believer in glowing skin.
Lately, I’ve noticed that when I wash and rinse my face with cold water, my skin feels impeccably soft, as if there’s still a product on my skin. However, applying cold products to your pores is the trick U Beauty Skin Care founder and TikTok creator Tina Craig uses to give her skin a glistening glow.
Some skincare lovers use ice rollers, which can help sooth the skin. Other will even snag jade rollers and freeze them to get a similar effect. However, the “face icing” Craig does in her viral TikTok that has over 1.2 million plays calls for putting frozen coconut milk on your face.
“You must stop washing your face with hot water,” she says while pouring coconut milk into a round ice mold. “It’ll strip your skin of natural oil and lipids, cause premature aging and possibly more acne.”
Instead, Craig incentivizes watchers to opt-in for washing your face with cold water, and follow up with the face icing beauty hack using coconut milk. Craig’s video also gives instructions on how to do face icing as a routine. She suggests using upward circular motions toward your hairline and massaging each side of your face with the iced coconut milk for at least one to two minutes.
Craig’s face icing coconut milk hack also has a bunch of skincare benefits to back it up. Coconut milk has protein, copper and fatty acids that can offer the skin a firmer appearance. Plus, coconut milk can help prevent wrinkles with its high concentration of vitamin C.
The ice molds that Craig uses are from Amazon and a pack of four is only $18. Plus, you can legit snag coconut milk from Amazon with your Prime Membership for as low as $2. The U Beauty Founder also mentions in her Instagram version of the hack that one coconut milk ice ball can last you an entire week before having to refill the ice mold.
Craig’s face icing beauty hack is intriguing (and affordable) enough for millions of people to have watched. And to be honest, she may even have me convinced with her glowing skin.
