Actor and comedian John Witherspoon passed away unexpectedly today (October 29). He was 77 years old.
His family confirmed with Deadline, John he died in his Sherman Oaks home in California. No cause of dead has been reported as of yet.
Witherspoon began his acting and comedy career in the late 70s (Good Times, What’s Happening). He is best known for his reprising roles in the Friday movie franchise and 90s sitcom The Wayans Brothers. John also starred in other Hollywood roles including Boomerang, Vampire In Brooklyn, I’m Gonna Get You Sucka, The Five Heartbeats, Soul Plane and many more. He has lead his voice in the Boondocks and made a cameos in music videos including Field Mobb, Jay-Z and more. R.I.P.
